Our Mother Earth is Angry!

I think our Mother Earth is angry!!! There are many natural disasters are happening lately. Volcanic eruptions in Indonesia, and caused earthquakes and tsunami. Floods in Thailand, storm in the USA and caused tornado. Moreover, there is also early snowing in China and some Europe countries but it is yet to reach winter.

All those natural disasters have caused many deaths and injured  and loss in the countries. It is a sad news to the world. I am wondering does our Mother Earth angry and show the world that the humans are not protecting the earth and keep on hurting her instead? Or is it a hint to us that the end of the world is coming soon?!

Does this mean the Go Green campaign in the world is not enough as the world people are not being aware and yet to protect the earth?! I have these questions in my mind everytime when I read the news about the natural disasters.

Anyway, I wish that the countries having those disasters would recover soon and the victims would be receiving help from people around the world. May God bless us all!!!

Hooray! I've Found My Long Lost Manga!

Hooray! I've found my long lost manga (comic), Ouke no Monshou a.k.a. Crest of the Royal Family or Daughter of the Nile. In Chinese it is called 尼罗河女儿 (Ni Luo Her Nu Er). I read this manga in my high school days, but I only managed to read part of the story. I had been stopped to read for this manga was I could not get the comic books from the store. I used to rent such comic books from the comic bookshop.

Anyway, finally I found this manga again. I found it online by accidentally while I was surfing information from some websites lately. I really am very happy for it as I could read this manga again. Well, maybe you would think that reading comic is very childish, but for me, as long as the reading materials do not contain any harmful contents, it can be read. I remember when I used to read the manga in my high school days, I was hiding in my room to read it. I would not let my parents know that I was reading mangas as they think those reading materials are harmful to the students.

Now I can read this comic online, and there are in dual versions, i.e. Chinese and English. Well, I prefer to read the Chinese version because I can have my 'feel' again for such manga as I was reading back in those days.

Let me brief the story manga, otherwise you will think that I am too childish for it. :P The main character is Carol, a blonde-haired, blue-eyed American teenager from a wealthy family with an interest in Egyptology studying in Cairo. When her mentor discovers the tomb of a young pharaoh, a curse is put on the excavation team and Carol. The curse sends her back in time to ancient Egypt, where she becomes embroiled in the affairs of Egypt and other ancient countries such as Assyria and Babylonia. Carol meets Memphis, a handsome young pharaoh whose tomb she excavated in modern times. Despite his headstrong, at first violent nature, they fall deeply in love. This angers Memphis's half-sister, the Priestess Isis, who has longed to marry him. Carol, due to her exotic looks and curious ability to tell the future, becomes a major player in ancient history.

The author of this manga is Hosokawa Chieko, and it is started in year 1976. Thus, this is an quite old manga and it has been very popular in my schooldays. I wish that I manage to read the whole story of this manga online this time. If you are interested to read this manga after my short intro, you may refer to these links. For Chinese version, please refer : http://www.imanhua.com/comic/169/ , and for English version, please refer : http://www.mangafox.com/manga/ouke_no_monshou/ .

Superbug NDM-1

The Superbug NDM-1, an acronym for "New Delhi metallo-B-lactamase - 1''. A superbug which is resistant to antibiotics has been detected in a 24-year-old woman, the first known case in Malaysia. This lady did not have travelling records before, I am wondering how did she get it?! According to the news, she was only a carrier, and her bacteria from her body had already been extracted. But I am still wondering did her superbug has been trasnmitted to other people, eg. patients or health staff while she was having treatment in the hospital.

Anyway, I have checked some websites and found there are some prevention for the superbug NDM-1.

Prevention of the Superbug NDM-1

• Provision of good hygienic conditions, with adequate cleanliness and sanitization is the best bet against further spreading of this superbug.

• Reporting any incidence of Superbug NDM-1 and isolating that patient at the earliest, is essential and helps prevent the further spread of such organisms.

• Isolation of patients and preventing them from contracting such diseases that are likely to be affected by super bug NDM-1 gene gives better results than treating the patient once exposed.

Controlling the spread of Superbug NDM-1 is largely related to stopping further mutation of the gene that causes it. Since it is largely confined to the hospitals, its further spread can be prevented by ensuring that those dealing with such patients wear long sleeved disposable gowns and use disposable gloves. Also, frequent fumigation and other such measures go a long way in preventing it.

Hopefully the superbug NDM-1 will not cause a big issue in here as it is sad to know it. A peice of advice, if you feel unwell in your body, please seek for the treatment immediately and do not delay it as health is very important to us.

Lunch at Fullhouse @ Sunway Pyramid

Comic at the back of the menu

Comical Menu

Long Wall Beautiful Picture

Iced Lemon Tea

Roasted Chicken Chop

Dual languages Menu

Fullhouse Cafe @ Sunway Pyramid

Yesterday, my family and I went to the Sunway Pyramid for movie, shopping and lunch. After the movie of 'Sammy's Adventures', we went to the Fullhouse to dine in. The cafe is having a nice decoration as whole cafe is in white and looks comfortable. The dining tables and chairs are also in white color. There is a beautiful long wall picture too. When you enter the cafe, you will see there are a set of sofa which feels like living room. I was having the feeling that I had entered a fairytale world.

After we given a table, we checked on the menu for our food. The menu is also beautiful as there are cute pictures and comics available too. The menu is in dual languages, ie. English and Chinese. So, it was fun to have comical menu when we making the orders. The comics are available at the back of the menu. The customers can read for it.

We ordered Roasted Chicken Chop with daily vegetable, it is a grilled chicken chop with the taste of black pepper. The other dishes were, pasta, spaghetti and iced lemon teas. All the food were tasted good. Fullhouse cafe also available with some desserts, eg. cakes and tarts. They look beautiful and nice too. Guess what, all the waiters are dressed in the cute maid uniform.  Besides, there is also a mini cooper outside of the cafe to let the customers to take picture.

We enjoyed our meal very much at Fullhouse and we also like the environment there. So, my recommendation to you is it is worth to pay a visit there with the nice food and environment available. For me, I will definitely visit Fullhouse again.

What kind of Teachers Available Nowdays?!

There are some cases reported on the newspapers lately that some of the teachers or headmaster had assaulted the students in the schools. I think it is a sad news. Why are those teachers/headmaster had such method towards those students? The reasons probably were students having bad attitudes, loitering around the corridor during the class, skipping classes, making noises, etc.. Personally, I think the teachers/headmaster could give punishment to the students who had made mistakes or causing problems in school instead of assaulted them.

The teachers/headmaster are playing as the role models for the students, if they also shown the 'violence act' towards the students, what would the students to think of? Is that mean the problems could be solved by violence instead of handling the problems in courtesy?! Moreover, I think it would frighten the students too.

I remember one of my BM teachers while I was in standard 3, I think her name is Teacher Wong. Well, she is a very 'fierce' and serious teacher. I remember all the students in my class (inclusive me) do not like her. She always shouted and scolded to the students. I remember there was a time she was in the very bad mood, and she was marking our exercises. When she found out there was mistakes on the answers, she was throwing the exercise books of the students on the floor and then told the students to pick it up to redo and also scolding the students. She was scolding harshly while marking the exercises. All of the students were just kept quiet at that time and everyone was frightened. Now that I think of it, I should complaint that teacher as she was not treated the students nicely, in fact she is not a good teacher though.

Students like to listen to teacher story telling, especially primary school children. My niece was having her teacher story telling few days ago, but her teacher was telling a ghost story instead of a motivation story to them. My niece was being scared after her teacher's story. She dares not to be stayed alone now. My niece needs accompany wherever she goes now, even when she is taking her shower or sleeping. I guess the teacher was too over on this issue as I don't think she should story telling of ghost story to frighten the small children. I am wondering is my niece the only one who got frightened from it or are there any other students are having the same situation! I guess I should have highlight this to her school.

Gosh, I really wondering what kind of teachers are out there nowadays? Aren't the teachers know that they are the role models for the students and their way of teaching and speech are important to the students. Good education should be provided by the teachers/headmasters to the students in order to make the students to become a successor in future. Of course, the students themselves also have to put much effort on their schools and both parties have to help each other in order to gain a win win situation. So, do you agree with me?!

20.10.2010

Today is 20.10.2010, 10 days after 10.10.10. Today is again a special date. Some people may have their special celebrations on this date. Some people may just treat today as a normal weekday. For me, it is just a normal weekday, or maybe it can be a little special day for me. I'm celebrating my 4 month-old anniversary for this blog! :P

Anyway, I woke up at 9.50am this morning and then took my breakfast. I was then did some readings on newspapers and book. In the afternoon, I started to surf net and MSN with my friend for awhile. During my surfing on net, I found out that a doctor has a normal baby delivery at 2:10pm on todate. I am wondering how many babies have borned on today and at that time, I mean normal delivery. Well, another time would be 20:10 fo 20.10.2010, how many babies will be borned? I think it is an interesting issues! :) Haha!

Today is also a special date for my ex-colleague. She is celebrating her birthday today and it is also her big day, wedding day. I feel happy for her and want to wish her 'Happy Birthday and Congrats for the big day!'

As for me, today is just a normal day for me. Thus, I have nothing special to share with you. Well, if you have any special experiences on this special date, maybe you could share with me?! I am looking forward to hear from you. Cheers! :)

Niece's Hip Hop Dance

Children Latin

Children Jazz

Children Ballet

Last Saturday evening, my family and I went to see the performance of my little niece. She performed in hip-hop dance with the song title "Bang Bang Bang". All the young dancers were dressed and make-up as zombie for the performance (as shown in the picture).
This is the second time of my little niece's performance. The first time was in 3 months ago. Well, in this performance, the young hip-hop dancer group has become bigger, there are 13 of them compares to only 5 of them in 3 months ago.
I could see that all those young dancers were very good as they are only age between 6 year-old to 11 year-old. They could remember the 3 minutes of dancing steps is considered very good and very brave for them to perform for the audiences.
Besides the hip-hop dance from the young dancers, they were also performance of children jazz, children Latin and children ballet. All the performers are good. Personally I like the performance of children Latin besides my niece's hip-hop dance performance. This is due to the children Latin's costumes are beautiful and all the performers are lovely girls. They were dancing well, especially the first row girls.
Thus, I think if those young dancers put more effort on their practicing and learning, they could become good in future. This is because I could see all of them were enjoying very much in the performance. I hope my niece will keep up the good work for her hip-hop dance too as my family and I would like to see her to have more performances in the coming time and we are proud of her. Keep it up, my dear niece!! :) Below is the short video clip of my niece's hip-hop dance, hope you are will enjoy!

Won for the Free Movie Passes

Last Saturday, I went to the Astro office to collect my free movie passes which I won from the contest. I could not recall I had entered the contest via the Astrolife website until I received the SMS for the notification. Anyway, I was glad that I won the free movie passes. It is for the animation movie "Sammy's Adventure". Too bad the movie passes are not valid for the 3D movie, they are only valid for the normal one. Anyway, I still feel happy for the winning as I can watch such movie free! :P

When I reached the Astro office (North Gate), the visitor's cars were not allowed to park inside, only allowed to park outside. So, my sister was waiting for me outside and I went to the office for the movie passes collection. So, I gave my driving license to the security guards and he gave me a visitor pass to enter to the office after I informed them I came for the movie passes collection. After I got the visitor pass, I entered to the office. Well, I saw there were other winners too, young ones, grandparents, mother with the kid, quite some people were there to collect their prizes.

I am required to show the Astro staff for the notification SMS that I received together with the Astro bill before I collected the prizes. Moreover, I had to completed 2 forms, a questionnaire and a acknowledgement form before I collected my prizes. After completed the forms, I returned to the Astro staff and then only I received my free movie passes. They told me "Enjoy the movie!"

So, after collected my prizes, I was headed home. My niece was glad to see the free movie passes. I think I will watch the movie together with her next week. Thus, I hope I can enjoy the movie then! :)

A Small Contribution To Change the World of the Children

Nowadays most of the children living in the world are having happy life and they are having the good education, and having a good future. They are having the good meals at home and having love from their family.

However, have you ever thought of there are also some children out there who are lack of food and water, no education are provided for them?! Would you ever thought of helping those children to change their world?!

If you have never thought of this or have no idea of how to help those poor children, I can tell you now. Well, I am a child sponsor for about 4 years. My sponsor child is a small Mongolian girl, she is 3.5 years old now. She is my second sponsor child. A small contribution from us can help to change the world of the child. With the monthly contribution, the amount of money is helped to change the life of the children. This contribution is used for the clean water, education, and health care. The children will be having improvement in their life after they received the contribution and it would also help to improve the economy of the country too.

I have contact with my sponsor child. We are having letters exchange and the child sponsor can send some small gifts to the sponsored child too. On the other hand, we will also receive letter or report on the child sponsor progress. Thus, I, as the child sponsor do not need to worry for my sponsored child. During the festive seasons, eg, Chinese New Year or Christmas, I will receive greeting cards from sponsored child and I can tell you that, I will have a warm feeling when I receive those greeting cards.

For your information, my 10 year-old niece is one of the child sponsors too. Her sponsored child is a young girl from China and they are exchanging letters once a while. My niece is enjoying very much in this. Thus, if a 10 year-old kid can realise a small contribution to help to change the world of the children who needed, why don't you?!

So, if you are also interested to become a child sponsor like I am, or you would like to have further information about Child Sponsorship program, you can check through this website,
http://www.worldvision.com.my/index.php

I wish to have more child sponsors in order to help to change the world of the poor children with a small contribution from you. A little help from you can save the poor children as you know that children is our future.

Lastly, I would like to thank you for helping those poor children. May God bless you all!

A Bad Day for Me

I went to the PPUM for my eye check-up yesterday. I had been waited for almost 4 hours then only it was my turn. Guess what, I had reached the hospital by 7am for the my registration and then took my breakfast there. There were many patients there, senior citizens, kids, ward patients. All were waiting long.

When it was my turn, I entered the room for the consultation. It only took about 1o minutes for the check-up and then doctor told me everything was fine, and told me to go back to check-up after few months time. So, I had been waited for almost 4 hours and my consultation time only took about 10 minutes. Anyway, after I made my appointment for my next check-up, my mother and I went to the pharmacy to purchase the medicines. Again we had to wait for our queue. We have to spend so much time for the waiting in the hospital. By the time we left the PPUM, it was 12.30pm. Both my mother and I were starving, so we decided to have our lunch at the famous chicken rice shop which nearby the PPUM.

When we reached the famous chicken rice shop, it was already big crowd there as it was lunch hour. So, we decided to sit inside the shop as it has air-cond available, we then ordered our meals. I took roast chicken wanton noodle (dry) and mother had ordered wanton dry noodle and drink for our lunch. About 10 minutes later, our meals were served. The meals looked delicious and we took it fully. Then we headed home.

However, I was started to feel unwell once I reached home. I was having stomach upset and then having diarrhea and threw up few times. I had threw up all the things that I had taken for my lunch. Gosh, I was having food poisoning I guess. I was then was feeling unwell since afternoon until I fall asleep at night. I even could not eat well for my dinner in the evening. At last I took a dose of pain killer before I went to bed as I could not bear with my stomach pain anymore. I was wondering how could I was having such a bad day for me.

Luckily I could fall sleep after the taken the pain killer. So, when I woke up this morning, I felt that my stomach was not pain anymore, but I still feeling a bit weak for my body. Hopefully I can recover soon and now that I am a little frighten and I wonder could have another meal in that famous chicken rice shop next time!?!

Being A Suspected H1N1 Flu Patient for 7 Days

A few days ago, one of my friends had mentioned about the H1N1 Flu. I then have recalled my 7 days of being a suspected H1N1 flu patient in last year. I would like to share with you all now as it really was a scary time for me.

I bet you all have known what is H1N1 Flu. It is also called Swine Flu and it is an infection caused by virus. People do not normally get swine flu but human infections can and do happen. The virus is contagious and can be spread from human to human. The symptoms of the flu are similar to the human regular flu, which include, fever, cough, sore throat, body aching, headaches, chills and fatigue.

In August 2009, I was having high fever and coughing (also on the medication of pulmonary tuberculosis), I was being suspected to get infected H1N1 flu by the doctor. The other reason was that I was also one of the person from the high risk group of people, ie. :
  1. Children younger than 5 year-old
  2. Senior citizens age 65 and above
  3. People with chronic lung or heart conditions
  4. Pregnant woman
  5. People with obesity

Anyway, I was sent to the Emergency Unit of the UMMC for admission and I had been waited for 5 hours for the check-up and admission. I guess if I were the patient of the H1N1 flu at that time, the crowd had been infected by me and the doctor of the ER also did not take note of my case even I was having the letter from the doctor that I was a suspected H1N1 flu.

Anyway, I was then admitted in the quarantined ward for a night and my family was prohibited to enter such ward. I was having throat swab test and chest x-ray. But the result of the throat swab would only be released a week later. In the quarantined ward, I saw there were many patients there, they have old people, babies, young kid. I got to talk to some of the lady patients, they admitted due to they are asthma or high blood pressure patients. All the nurses were wearing 2 layers of mask for protection, but they were friendly. I could not sleep for that night and was very sad and wondered how could this happen to me!

Luckily, I got discharged on the next day but the doctor required me to have self quarantined at home and I also required to take 2 doses of Tamiflu for 5 continuous days, and returned to the hospital for the result after a week time. I can tell you that, during that 1 whole week, my mother and I were worried so much.

During that 1 week of waiting time, I was so frightened that my result would be positive. I could not eat well or sleep well. My friend gave me a call to comfort me after she found out my incident. She told me not to worry as she also experienced before, her result was negative. I was quite reliefed a bit after talking to her, but honestly, I was still very frightened for the result as there were quite a number of people have lost their lifes due to such flu. Thus, I prepared all the things at that time. I took out all my insurance policies, bank passbooks and FD statements and put at a place which was easy for my mother to search for. I did not tell her about it as I did not want to upset her. Moreover, I was also praying to the Gods everyday for my result would be negative. It really suffered me very much! :(

I went to the UMMC for my check-up and the throat swab result after 1 week time. I was shivering while waiting for my turn. When my name being called, I went to the room to see the doctor. It was a Malay lady doctor, she told me my result was negative and I was glad to hear it and she also felt happy for me. She then told me that I did not need to worry anymore. After I left the hospital, I sent the SMS to my friend to inform her the good news and she was happy for me too. So, it was really a reliefed for me and my mother.

So, this is my frightened 7 days of being the suspected of H1N1 Flu patient experience. I would like to advice the people out there, please take the vaccination for the prevention of flu, as it is no harm to you. Now that I know there is a new influenza called NDM-1, the new swine flu. NDM-1 (New Delhi Metallo-beta-lactamase 1) is originated from bacteria. It is dangerous and transmitted from person-to-person from direct contact or infected persons exposed materials, specially person admitted to hospitals, clinics, health care centers, etc.. A piece of advice, please do take good care of your health. If you are not feeling well, please seek for the treatment at once. Health is the most important asset in our life. Cheers!

10.10.10

Today is 10.10.10, Sunday, October 10, 2010. This is a special day as this date is only happened once in a thousand years. The number 10 seems to give people a good sign, a warm or fuzzy feeling. Eg. perfect 10, top 10. Today is also the National Day of Taiwan too.
Many people will do their celebration for this date. For example, they will have their wedding on this date as it is a special date and also good for memory. Some organisations may organise some events for such celebration. Eg. family day, as it falls on Sunday. Some people may their birthday celebration, or any anniversary celebrations.
For me, this is not so much special as it is just a normal Sunday. So, I will be staying at home to relax and rest and to do my readings. What I am trying to say is that this date can be meant something special to someone, on the other hand, it can be meant nothing to someone. So, what will you do on this special date?! Maybe you can share with me!
I also found there is an interesting fact about October 2010. This October has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays, all in one month. This only happens once in every 823 years. I guess this October is a special month. Anyway, tomorrow is the Monday again, I wish you have a good week ahead! Cheers!

The Chronicles of Narnia

Phew, finally I have finished reading the whole story of 'The Chronicles of Narnia' by C.S. Lewis. The ending is out of my expectation. I believe most of the people have known about the stories of the book as it has been made into movies since year 2005.

'The Chronicles of Narnia' is a series of 7 fantasy novels written by C.S. Lewis between 1939 to 1954. It has been sold over 100 million copies in about 50 languages over the world. The 7 series of the stories are as below :-
  1. The Magician's Nephew
  2. The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe
  3. The Horse and the Boy
  4. Prince Caspian
  5. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
  6. The Silver Chair
  7. The Last Battle

3 of the stories above had been made into movies, they are, 'The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe', 'Prince Caspian' and 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader'. The first two movies have been released in year 2005 and 2008 respectively. Whereas 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader' will be released in this December. I am looking forward for the movie.

I was enjoying very much for the Narnia's movies as the visual effects of the movies are very amazing and now I am looking forward for the coming Narnia movie which would released in the year end. Although I already knew the story, still I am would like to catch the movie as I believe the movie would be able to show us, the audience, some amazing scenes and story.

I like the stories of the Narnia very much as it is an adventure for the people. Sometimes I would be thinking if I had been magically transported to the magic-land or some place which is totally different from our world nowadays, what would happen to my life?! I bet it must be really an adventure life for me. Haha!

Maybe you could share with me your adventure life, have you ever thought of going to someplace which is totally different from your world and why?! Well, I am waiting for your adventures! :P

Nine Emperor Gods(Jiu Wang Ye 九王爷)

Today is the 1st day of the Chinese lunar calender of the month of ninth,(九月初一). It is also the celebration of the festival of "Jiu Huang, 九皇", by the Daoists in Malaysia and Singapore. "Nine Emperor Gods" also known as 'Jiu Wang Ye 九王爷'. Its trademark tradition is the "shaking" of the "chairs of the gods" while en route to the sea.

Since it is the 1st day of the month (Chinese lunar calendar), I took vegetarian breakfast. I am a vegetarian on every 1st and 15th day of the month for half day. Anyway, my mother and I went to the Kwan Yin Temple for praying after our breakfast. There were many people in the temple. Some even took their small babies for the blessings. Some were doing divination. After the praying, we headed home.

The festival of "Jiu Huang" is started too. So, it will be raining everyday throughout the month. Let me give you an advice, please do bring your umbrella or raincoat whenever you travel outside in order to keep you away from wet. It is a traditional as it is always raining in this Chinese lunar calender month. :)

So, it is also the weekend, wish you all enjoy the weekend. Cheers!
