Humour Corner :D

Hello people! 1/4/2011 is reaching in less than 2 days. I would like to paste a humour message for you all to enjoy here.

Jake was dying and his wife Betty was by his side. She held his fragile hand, tears running down her face. Jake looked up and his pale lips began to move slightly. “Betty darling he whispered.. “Hush my love, Betty silenced him. “ Rest and don’t talk” she said. He was insistent. “Betty, he said in his tired voice. “ I have something that I must confess”. There’s nothing to confess, everything is all right, go to sleep, said Betty.  “ No, no Betty, I …. I’ve slept with your sister, your best friend and even your mother! “ I know my sweet one” whispered Betty, that’s why I’ve poisoned you.”

Enjoy! ^.^

EARTH HOUR 26.03.2011

People all over the world turn off their non-essential lights at home or in their office for one hour on the last Saturday in the month of March of every year. This event is known as the Earth Hour.
Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund) to ask the households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for an hour to raise the awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.
Earth Hour is started in Year 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for an hour to take a stand against climate change. A year later, the Earth Hour had become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries/territories participating. Global landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, CN Tower in Toronto, Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and the Colosseum of Rome, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.
Earth Hour 2011 is on todate, March 26, 2011, Saturday, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at participants' respective local time. So, make sure you turn off the non-essential lights in your house or office in order to safe our Mother Earth. Everyone is welcome to participate and support in this global event, Earth Hour.

Helicobacter Pylori (H. pylori)

I have found out that my aunt has infected the helicobacter pylori and has been admitted in the hospital for 2 days in yesterday. This reminds of myself with the same when I was also infected the helicobacter pylori in Year 2009 and admitted in the hospital. Thus, I would like to blog about helicobacter pylori now.

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is the bacteria responsible for most ulcers and many cases of stomach inflammation (chronic gastritis). The bacteria can weaken the protective coating of the stomach, allowing digestive juices to irritate the sensitive stomach lining.

According to the doctor, many people are infected with H.pylori. Those living in developing countries or crowded, unsanitary conditions are most likely to contract the bacterium, which is passed from person to person. H. pylori only grows in the stomach, and is usually contracted during childhood.

The symptoms of H.pylori are as below :-

• Abdominal pain
• Bloating and fullness
• Dyspepsia or indigestion
• Feeling very hungry 1 to 3 hours after eating
• Mild nausea (may be relieved by vomiting)

Simple blood, breath, and stool tests can determine if we are infected with H. pylori. I did the Urea Breath Test (UBT) last time. In this test, I have to drink a glass of water, and before that I have to rinse my mouth. After that I blew into a paper bag. Then this paper bag would be sent to the lad for the test to determine if H. pylori is infected.

Once the person has been confirmed with infection of H. Pylori, treatment must be taken from the gastrologist. Treatment must be taken for 10 to 14 days. Medications are the antibiotics. Some patients would recover after the course of treatment; however, some would be having side effects from the medications. I was one of the unlucky ones that was having side effects from the medications. I was kept on vomiting after taking the medications until I became restless and very weak. I was having such problem for 5 days until I went to see the doctor and told him my problem. The specialist then told me that I was having side effects of the medications and it was not the normal thing for consuming the medications. So, I have to admit into the hospital and change to another type of antibiotics for my treatment. Guess what, I was in the hospital for 4 days 3 nights. 

Normally patients only required to take the course of treatment and then recovered. For me, I had to admit into hospital for the treatment and moreover I was suffered so much for the side effects! I really was an unlucky person! 

Therefore, when I know that my aunt was infected with H. pylori and been admitted, I know how she was felt.In order to prevent the infection of H. pylori, we must have a clean and germ-free environment. This may help to decrease the risk of H. pylori infection.

World Sleep Day - 18th March

Friday, March 18, is  World Sleep Day, an international event intended to celebrate the act of sleeping and to help raise awareness for bedtime-related issues. World Sleep Day is held every year on March 18th, with a view to raise awareness about the merits of sleeping well for a healthy life. The theme for this year (2011) is promoting healthy sleep for all ages. Sleep is a basic human need—a crucial component of healthy living, much like breathing, eating and remaining physically fit.
However, nowadays many people are having problems of difficulty of sleeping and caused insomnia or sleeping disorders. Lack of quality sleep can lead to accidental injuries, hyper/hypo activity, obesity, emotional problems (irritability, aggressiveness), impaired memory and/or decreased attention span. Sleep disorders also make it more difficult to control diabetes, hypertension and coronary heart disease.
"Sleep is of vital importance for children of all ages," says Jodi Mindell, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist specializing in pediatric sleep medicine. "Getting a full-night's sleep will help children function at their best both at home and at school. Sleep is essential for a child's happiness and well-being."

To help improve children' sleep and overall wellness, 10 Commandments of Healthy Sleep for Children are created as below:

1.Make sure your child gets enough sleep by setting an age-appropriate bedtime and wake time.

2.Set consistent bedtime and wake-up times on both weekdays and weekends.

3.Establish a consistent bedtime routine and recommend wearing comfortable clothes in bed, including strong absorbing diapers for infants.

4.Encourage your child to fall asleep independently.

5.Avoid bright light at bedtime and during the night and increase light exposure in the morning.

6.Keep all electronics, including televisions, computers and cell phones, out of the bedroom and limit use of electronics before bedtime.

7.Maintain a regular daily schedule, including consistent mealtimes.

8.Have an age-appropriate nap schedule.

9.Ensure plenty of exercise and time spent outdoors during the day.

10.Eliminate foods and beverages containing caffeine.

Some of the facts above are also applicable to adults. With good quality of sleeping, we can only have strong immune system for our body and become a strong healthy person. Thus, wish all of you would have a good sleep from today onwards. Enjoy your sleeping!

Please Help!! Relief Aid for Japanese Quake Victims

The Malaysian Red Crescent Society is collecting cash donations to aid victims of the
11/3/2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan that destroyed thousands of homes and killed just as many people. While Japan has very good infrastructure to handle natural disasters like this, they still need help to buy food, water, and medical supplies.

Please click here to read how you may channel your donations.

Donors can also send cheques to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society Headquarters at 32, Jalan Nipah off Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. Cheques should be made out to the “Malaysian Red Crescent Society” with the words “Japan Earthquake and Tsunami” written at the back of the cheque or bank in into MRCS Account Maybank No – 5144 – 2210 – 2657. Donations to the MRCS are entitled to tax exemption.

Let's Pray for Japan!

As all of us know that Japan was having a major earthquake and then tsunami. This caused many deaths, injured and missing. However, the situation is now worse as blasts of the nuclear power plants raise radiation threat to the people.

According to the ABC news in about an hour ago, the Japanese government says radiation levels near a quake-stricken nuclear power plant are now harmful to human health, after a further two explosions and a fire at the facility. Thus the people are informed to stay indoors. All the people over the world are very concern about the radiation now. I wish that there would be no more explosions, otherwise the matter would become worse.

Honestly speaking, I feel sorry for the people in Japan. I think they are having a sorrow time now. Thus, let us pray for the people in Japan to be safe and fine. I wish all this hard time would over soon!

It’s a Gloomy Day!

It has been a gloomy day for today. This is due to it has been raining for the whole day. The rain was started since this early morning until the evening. Some people may say it was a nice weather, some people may not agree with it.

For me, it is alright to for the raining as I was only staying at home and did not go anywhere outside. But I saw sad news in the afternoon. Japan was having a major earthquake today with the magnitude of 8.9, unleashing a 13-foot tsunami that swept boats, cars, buildings and tons of debris miles inland. It was a major devastating for Japan. Fires also caused by the quakes. According to the news, there are deaths, missing, and injured due to this disaster. The Tokyo Disneyland is also being affected by the disaster.

A tsunami warning was also issued for Taiwan, Philippines, Hawaii and the coasts of Oregon, California, Washington and parts of Alaska. Well, I wish that tsunami would not happen in those places as I believe there would be a great loss if it really has happened.

I am wondering is it really going to be the end of the world as Yr.2012 is approaching?! Since the earthquake had happened in the Christchurch, NZ followed by China and now Japan. I really wish that no more natural disaster would happen to the world. How about you, what do you think?!

It's MATTA Fair again!

The Travel Fair, MATTA Fair is here again. The Malaysia Association of Tour & Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair is started from 11/3/2011 until 13/3/2011 at the PWTC, KL. I believe many people would go to visit the MATTA Fair.

I used to visit the MATTA Fair every year last time. But I did not go in those back 2 years due to my health problem. In the MATTA Fair, there are hundreds of booth to offer the travel packages for domestic and overseas. For me, I always would go to the booths that offered overseas travel packages. This is due to I am interested in the overseas travel packages. From the MATTA Fair, I could do the survey for the packages. Moreover, there were many cultural shows performance from over the world. I remember I saw the performance shows from Korea, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and many more.

Sometimes I also received some small gifts/souvenirs from some of the booths too, like from Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. The small gifts inclusive postcards, badges, pens, mini umbrella and even a portrait.

I saw some people even brought their passport along when visited the MATTA Fair. This is due to they would sign up immediately once they found the travel package which meet their requirements. Besides, there are booth to sell winter clothes, luggage, anything which relates to the travel.

Well, I don't think I would go to the MATTA Fair this time. This is because I am not allowed to go to the place with crowd. As we know that MATTA Fair is always attract a huge crowd of people. Thus, I would not be able to join this interesting event in this time.

For those who would visit the MATTA Fair, do enjoy yourself!!!

To Make a Deal with My Niece

One more week, it would be the school holidays. All the students are having their school exams in these few weeks. No doubt, my niece is also having her exams. In order to encourage her to do well for her exams, I have made a deal with her. The deal is if she gets 85% or above for minimum 3 of her exam papers, I would give her a gift. :P

My niece is happily accepted the deal. Well, I hope she would do well for her exams. But I am yet to decide what type of gift I should give to her. Story book? Stationery? I really have no ideas. Maybe you can give me some suggestions?! Anyway, I wish all the best to my niece for her coming exams in this coming week. Go for it, my niece!!! J

Time for Income Tax Submission

It is the month of March now. It is the time for Income Tax submission. I bet the people are preparing the supporting documents (EA letter, official receipts of insurance premium payments, medical bills, books purchasing, dividend bills, etc.) for the income tax submission. No doubt, I am one of them too.

I already have all my supporting documents ready, except the EA letter from my old company. I would have done my e-submission now if I got my EA letter. Since I am waiting for it, I am doing for my mother instead. Well, I wish that I would receive my EA letter from my old company as soonest possible as I do not like to delay my submission.

I realise that most of the Malaysians like to do the thing in 'last minute', so I would not want to have such thing happen to me. Moreover, the later I do the submission, I think the line would be "jammed" too. Anyway, I wish I could do it latest by this month.

I also would like to advice to the people, make sure you do the Income Tax submission latest by 30/4/2011, otherwise they would be a penalty charges for you.

Humour Corner :D

Hello there! It's been quite a long time that I did not post for the humour corner. So, I am posting a humour message now in order for you to have a SMILE ! :P Enjoy!!!

SITTING IN THE BACK OF A TAXI A NUN NOTICED THE CAB DRIVER STARING AT HER. SHE ASKED HIM WHY AND HE REPLIED THAT HE HAD A DESIRE TO KISS HER. THE NUN AGREED WITH A CONDITION THAT THE DRIVER IS STILL SINGLE AND A CATHOLIC. THEY KISSED PASSIONATELY. LATER ON THE DRIVER STARTED TO CRY CONFESSING THAT HE LIED. HE WAS MARRIED AND WAS A JEWISH. THE NUN SMILED AND REPLIED.....
"ITS OK. BY THE WAY I’M KEVIN AND I’M OFF TO A FANCY DRESS PARTY!”
