Depression is defined as a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person's thoughts, behavior, feelings and physical well-being. It may include feelings of sadness, anxiety, emptiness, hopelessness, worthlessness, guilt, irritability, or restlessness. Depressed people may lose interest in activities that once were pleasurable, experience difficulty concentrating, remembering details, or making decisions, and may contemplate or attempt suicide. Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, loss of energy, or aches, pains or digestive problems that are resistant to treatment may be present. You may read out more about depression via here.
There are some suicide news lately on the newspaper due to all those people were having depression. Some of them were having major depression I think. So, from here, we know that depression is an illness that could cause risk to our lives.
I would like to share my own experience of depression with you here. I was having depression in a few years back (after my father’s death). I did not realise that I was having such illness until I went to consult doctor.
Since my father’s death, there were many incidents happened to me. I was having sick easily, and been admitted to the hospital 3 times within a year, often having quarrels with my elder sister due to some family matters, and always worried about my mother (as she sudden lost of husband). I could not concentrate on my work during that time as I was having so many unhappy matters around me. I guess my work was very poor at that moment. Luckily I managed to have a close colleague whom I could talk to about my problems, and I know she could keep the secret for me. Well, after letting my problems out, it helped a little as I would not feel so stress.
But I was still having stress or tension whenever I was at home. This was due to I got to have quarrelled with my elder sister easily, even it was a small matter. When I saw my mother’s sad face and she was like ‘zombie’, I was really very worried about her. Thus, I felt I was having a major stress on my shoulder and moreover I was also unhappy for my work which I could not say about at home as I did not want to let my mother worried about me. I was really suffered very much. I started to lose my interest of watching TV. I am a person who likes to watch TV very much, but during that time; I was losing interest on watching TV. I was not even concentrated on the TV even I was watching though. At night, I was having insomnia, and thus I was having fatigue always. I even was sobbing by myself at night. However, I was yet to realise that I was having depression at that time.
I started to consult doctor when I got admitted into hospital due to the digestive problem. I was crying most of the time when I was in the hospital as I think I have lost my emotion at that time. I remember the staff nurse came to talk to me (just the both of us, without anyone else around) for few times. She tried to comfort me. So I also managed to tell her my problems/sadness which I was having at that time. Then I was advised to consult the psychiatrist specialist.
The psychiatrist specialist came to my ward for my first time consultation. He listened carefully with all my problems. He then told me that I was having depression due to the sudden loss of my father and work problem. Thus he given me some medicines which I could have enough sleep at night so that I could feel better. After taking the medicines, I could have better sleep and I was feeling much better. After having 4 followed-up consultations, I felt that I have changed. I did not feel sad or unhappy anymore, I felt more open or lively. Before that, I was always having the negative thoughts, but then I changed my thinking as not so negative anymore on my side. I guess the treatment did help me a lot.
Since then, whenever, I was having negative thoughts or the bad feelings of depression on me again, I try to talk to my friend as I want to let my problems out and do not keep inside by myself, otherwise I would be suffer very much. Sometimes my friend might be able to help me to solve the problems too. Moreover, I try to stay lively as to avoid feeling blues.
A piece of advice from me, if you are always feeling low, unhappy or you feel that your attitude or lifestyle is different from your old days, please talk to someone and let your problems out, otherwise you would be suffer on your own. If possible, please go to consult doctor. With the help of the doctor, you would be recovering soon.
Welcome to my blog! I have been blogging for years, and I find it is fun. However, please forgive me if there is anything which has been offended you. Anyway, I wish you will like my blog and keep following it! Cheers!

Happy Chap Goh Meh! 元宵节快乐!!!
Today is the 15th day of the Chinese New Year, it is the Lantern Festival or Yuan Xiao Jie (元宵节). In Malaysia, it is called Chap Goh Meh. It is also aka Chinese Valentine's Day!
It is called Yuan Xiao jie because xiao means "evening" and the whole phrase refers to the Lantern Festival, as it's called today. Yuan Xiao Jie dates back to the Han dynasty (206 B.C.-A.D. 220). Sima Qian (c. 145 or 135-B.C), author of Records of the Historian, considered it an important festival when he advised Emperor Wudi to revised the calendar and adopt the Tiachu calendar (used from 104 B.C. to A.D. 85). On the night o Yuan Xiao Jie there is an exhibition of lanterns that attracts many spectators. This custom at first had something to do with night curfew in ancient china. Since the Zhou Dynasty (11th century-256 B.C.), the common people had been to go outdoors or get together at nights. The curfew was not relaxed until the Han dynasty, when the rite of sacrifice to the Heavenly King took place throughout the night. This was probably the first time the curfew was lifted and the at people were allowed to come out to watch the lanterns.
It is a 1300-year-long tradition that for the Lantern Festival every family eat Yuanxiao(here it means a ball-like glutinous rice flour dough stuffed with sweet things). It is also known as fuyanzi (floating ball) because when boiled they float on the surface of the soup ( tangyuan) (balls in soup) or fengou (dough fruit). People eat it as a symbol of family reunion and a sweet life. Gradually people have come to call it just yuanxiao for short. At any rate, it is so tasty that everyone likes it. The ingredients of the stuffing are white sugar, brown sugar, color dressings, rose, bean paste, sesame, ashed walnuts, etc. The yuanxiao are prepared by boiling, steaming or frying. Today, before the festival, the shops in all the cities, towns and villages in China make plenty of yuanxiao for the celebrator.
In Malaysia, since it is also called the Chinese Valentine's Day, there is a celebration for it. It is also when young unmarried women gather to toss tangerines into the sea, in a hope that their future spouse will pick it up – a custom that originated in Penang, Malaysia. In the past, this was also the only day that unmarried ladies could be seen with their partners.
Anyway, since it is Chap Goh Meh, I am wishing all the Chinese Happy Chap Goh Meh/Lantern Festival and Happy Chinese Valentine's Day!!!

My Weekend!
Last weekend, my uncle and cousins came to visit my family and I together with their families. They all came on the same time, which was on the Saturday evening. Wow, my house was so lively as there were many children around and also many of us. We were chit-chatting with each others, and the children were playing computers games on their own. The children were my nieces and nephews. All of us were enjoying very much. We also taken some pictures since we did not meet each other for sometime.
Then on the next day, which was the Sunday, my mother and I went to the temple for praying. After the prayers ceremony, we went to visit my uncle and aunt (whom belong to my mother's side). Too bad that my aunt was not at at home, so we only managed to visit my uncle. We only stayed there for about an hour and then we headed home. This was due to I felt tired (as i just discharged from the hospital), my mother would not allowed me to stay outside for a long time. Thus, we returned home.
Well, this was how I spent my weekend. I was glad that I was abled to meet my relatives as I did not meet them for sometime as they were busy for their work in the weekdays. The only time we could have gathering was during the holidays! Anyway, i wish we could have more gatherings in next time!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Today is 14th February, it is the Valentine's Day. Many lovers/couples will celebrate this day. Some people would even get married on this day as it is a SPECIAL day.
In Japan, all the Japanese girl will give chocolate to their admirers on this day. After a month, if their admirers accept them, then they will give a gift back to the girl and then they would start for the relationship. However, this culture is not practice here. On this day, the boys will give flowers to their girlfriends, and the girlfriends will give a present to their loved one.
Anyway, since it's 14/2, I'm wishing everybody HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!! :)

It’s so GOOD to be at Home!!! :)
Yes, I’m home now. I have returned from the hospital in yesterday late afternoon.
I got up from bed at 9.30am this morning. I went to bed at 10.30pm last night and I was having a nice sleep for the night. This is due to there was no disturbance during my sleep, and it is so nice and comfortable to sleep on my own nice bed, with my pillows around. :P It is really very happy for me.
Well, after my brushed-up, I took my breakfast, which bought by my mother from the market this morning. I then reading newspaper. I am so glad that I can enjoy and relax myself in my home.
I was surfing net, watching TV or taking nap during my day time. I even eating the CNY cookies which I did not have it during my staying in the hospital.
It is the 8th day of the CNY, I believe tonight I would hear many fire crackers sounds as the Hokkien people will celebrate or having the Tien Kong ceremony. According to Hokkien people, the 9th day of the CNY is more grand than the 1st day of the CNY. Thus, I believe all the Hokkien people will enjoy this day very much!
Anyway, Gong Xi Fa Cai!!!

I AM GOING HOME TODAY, FINALLY!!! :)
Today is the 7th day of the CNY, It is also the Ren Ri , 人日(pinyin : renri). It is also known as Man's Birthday. So, I’m wishing everyone Happy Birthday!
Yes, the doctor allowed me to go back home in this afternoon, after my last antibiotic treatment. Finally, I am going home after 2 weeks time staying in the hospital. Hooray!!! J
I was having a peacefully sleep for last night. I did not awake in the middle of the night as I think there was not much noise, thus, I could sleep well. Anyway, I got up from bed at 7.30am, did my brush-up and then took my breakfast at 8am. The staff had delivered the wrong order to me. I had ordered the bread with egg for my breakfast, but he delivered a fried meehoon for me. The food was spicy, so I did not take it. In fact, I was taken a cup noodle as my breakfast.
I had my 1st session of the antibiotic treatment of the day at 8.30am. By 9.20am, the doctors came to see me and they allowed me to back home in this afternoon after I had my last session of the antibiotic treatment at 4pm. The Chest Specialist wants me to come back to the hospital for follow-up after 6 weeks time. The doctor advised me to take vaccination to prevent flu, and she wants me to take good care of my lung, otherwise I would get infections easily since there was scarring in my lung. After that, the doctors left.
I was then doing some newspapers reading. By 11.45am, the lunch was served. It was fish and chips, salad, 2 buns and a green apple. I just ate part of the fish as I think it was not fully-cooked, and I finished the buns and the chips. After meal, I was taking a rest.
By 3pm, I was having my last antibiotic treatment. The tea time was served with a piece of coconut kuih and a cup of Milo. I did not take it due to I did not feel like eating. After my last antibiotic treatment, the nurse helped me to take out the needle from my arm. While I was waiting my mother to settle the payment, I received a call from my friend. She found out about my matter through my blog, thus she called to ask about my condition. Our tele-conversation was taken about 5 minutes and she also advised me to wear mask whenever I go outside. Thus I think I’ll wear a mask then. By 4.20pm, everything had settled, so I left the hospital and headed home.
I was so glad that I could go back home then. In the meantime, I also would like to thank to the nurses and doctors while I was in the hospital as they treated me very friendly and well. Thank you!

My 13th day in the Hospital
I have been admitted in the hospital for 13 days already! Sigh! L
I got up from bed at 7.30am this morning as the nurses came to tidy my bed. I took my breakfast after my brushed-up. The breakfast was served with white bread, butter or strawberry jam, a boiled egg and a cup of Milo. I just took 3 pieces of bread with butter and the egg.
I was given my 1st session of the antibiotic treatment at 9.10am. The nurse also came to check my BP and body temperature. The body temperature was 35.5C, no fever for me, good! J After my treatment, I was reading newspaper while waiting for the doctor to come to see me.
By 10am, the 2 doctors came to see me. They were asking how I am doing; I told them I felt good as no more fever. One of the doctors then listened to my chest and said it was clear. They told me I would continue my antibiotic treatment until tomorrow, and then they left then. The whole procedure of the examination and checking by the doctors to me was only taken about 5 minutes.
After that, I was continued reading my newspaper. The visitors of the next bedded patient came to visit her again. There were about 4 of them. They were not making much noise in this morning, I wondered if they had realized that they would disturb others by making noise. Moreover, they only stayed for a short time; I think they left after 30 minutes. Phew, the room was quiet again. J
By 11.45am, the lunch was served. The food inclusive of a piece of grilled chicken, 2 buns, salad and melon. I finished the grilled chicken and a bun and I kept another bun for my tea time. OMG, the visitors of the next bedded patient had returned after the lunch time. Again, they were making noise. I guess I could not do anything to them and I just pulled the curtain to cover myself from them. They were staying for about an hour plus and then left. One of the young ladies from their group came to apologise to me for they were making noise. I then replied to her by saying that I would appreciate them to keep their voice down next time as it was really a kind of disturb to others. Of course I was telling her in a very polite way, and she had understood what I meant. So, she left. The room was back to quiet again! J
After my lunch, I was surfing net to read some news, read some blogs and MSN with my friend. I then stopped the surfing at 3pm and took my nap. The nurse came to check my BP and body temperature again. My temperature was 36C.
3.30pm was tea time and it was served with a bowl of bubur manis of red bean and a cup of Milo. As I do not like to eat the bubur manis, I did not take it. I ate the bun which I kept earlier and drank a few sips of the Milo to fill-up my stomach. I then started my nap. By 4pm, the nurse came to give me the 2nd session of the antibiotic treatment of the day.
After that, there were 3 medical students came to my ward and asked me if they could examine me. Since I did not have the mood to ‘entertain’ them, I just informed them that I did not wish to be disturbed during my resting time. So they left eventually. Honestly speaking, I really did not want to repeat telling my medical condition to the people who were not related. So, sorry to the medical students.
I received a call from my cousin sister in the afternoon. She was asking how my condition was. So I briefed her about my current condition. She gave me an advice that I should wear a mask whenever I was outside next time, and then she told me to take good care of my health. Our tele-conversation was lasted for about 5 minutes.
Anyway, I took my shower after my mother had arrived. I took my dinner then. Yes, the home-cooked food. So, I did not take the meal as provided by the hospital. After that, I took some rest again. The ward was very hot since the afternoon due to there was problem for the air-cond. According to the nurse, the whole building was having the air-cond problem. Gosh, I was wondering how I am going to sleep tonight with the hot room. I wish that the air-cond would be resumed ASAP.

My 12th day in the Hospital
It is the 1st day of the new week. Today is also the 12th day for me here.
I got up from the bed at 7.20am this morning, and then I did my brush-up. The nurses came to tidy my bed. By 8.20am, I took my breakfast. It was nasi lemak. After that, the nurse came to give me the antibiotic treatment.
After the treatment, I was taken some rest while waiting for my doctor. By 9.30am, the 2 doctors came to see me. I was disappointed that the doctors told me that my doctor in-charge is still on leave. They would check with another Chest Specialist pertaining my case and decide if I could be discharged by today or further extend. Then one of the doctors listened to my chest and said it was clear as I was no more having fever and was having the antibiotic treatment for a week already. Anyway, the doctors told me that they would keep me update in the afternoon after they discuss with the Chest Specialist for my case. Then they left.
I had nothing to say as I really wanted to go home now. I was wondering why is this happening to me?! Couldn’t I go back home?! Please!!! So, I have to wait until afternoon for the decision, if there was any. L
I was then taking a short nap since my mood was not good. There were 3 medical students came to me and said they wanted to examine me. Since my mood was not good and I did not want to be disturbed, I told them I wanted to have some rest and did not want to be disturbed. So they left. By 11.45am, the lunch was served. The food was fried curry fish, 2 types of vegetables, white rice and a pear. I took some of the fish with the rice.
OMG, the noisy visitors of the next bedded patient came again by 2pm. They were again making so much noise once they arrived in the room. My mother and I could not stand it anymore and my mother informed them to keep their voice down. At first they did, but then eventually back to noisy again. I just think they did not realize that they would DISTURB others!!!
By 2.45pm, the nurse came to check my BP and body temperature again. It was 35.5C. Thank God, no fever. By 3.10pm, the Chest Specialist, Dr. Chua came together with the 2 doctors (whom came to see me this morning) came to my ward. One of the doctors explained to the Chest Specialist about my medical condition, after that, the Chest Specialist told me that I could not be discharge yet as I still needed to continued my antibiotic treatment for another 2 days. According to him, since I was allergic to the previous antibiotic and then only changed to the current antibiotic that I was having treatment, it is required for 10 days of the course of treatment. The Chest Specialist said that as I still looked very pale, it is not advisable that I could go back home. He promised to discharge me by this Wednesday. Moreover, he was joking with me, as the CNY was not over yet, so I still could celebrate the CNY in later days. I told him that I was so unlucky as I was having my birthday celebration in the hospital in my last admission and now I was having my CNY in the hospital instead. The Chest Specialist was just smiling when he heard it. Anyway, I hope the Chest Specialist, Dr. Chua keeps his promise that I could be discharge after 2 days. But I was shocked when I heard he said that I could not go back home by today, so was my mother. Both of us were shocked to hear it.
Anyway, I had my 2nd session of the antibiotic treatment by 3.40pm. After the treatment, I took my shower. By 6pm, the dinner was served; it was grilled chicken with black pepper sauce, 2 buns, salad and a green apple. I just finished ¾ of the chicken and the buns.
After meal, I took some rest again and I started to blog about this. I guess I need to hold on for 2 more days in the hospital now. I really wish that I could go back home by this Wednesday.

My 11th day in the Hospital
Today is the 11th day for me in the hospital. I did not manage to sleep for last night. This was due to the family of the next bedded patient came to see her in the mid-night and they were making noise again. L
As I was just fall asleep in the dawn, I was then awakened by the nurse at 7.20am to give me the antibiotic treatment. After that, I was continued my sleeping as I was too sleepy. When the breakfast was served at 8am, I just took some bites of the bread and a boiled egg, and then I continued my sleep again.
By 9.30am, the doctors came to see me. I got up from bed then. Today was a Malay guy doctor, named Dr. Najib, came to see me. He told me that today would be my last treatment of my antibiotic. When my doctor in-charge (Dr. Lim) comes back to work by tomorrow, he would decide if I could be discharge. He then listened to my chest and then left.
After the doctors left, I got changed. I was then surfing net for a while. In between, I took some cookies to munch as I felt a bit hungry.
By 11.45am, the lunch was served. It was chicken chop as per my order. I did not able to finish the chicken chop due to it was very oily. I just ate ¾ of the chicken chop, a bun and half a piece of the watermelon. After the meal, I was taken some rest again.
The relatives of the next bedded patient came to visit her in the afternoon. This time, they were not talking as loudly as the other day, a bit better. One of the ladies even approached and talked to me. So being as a polite person, I replied to her. Then they left at around 2pm and only the lady whom talked to me earlier was staying to take care of the patient.
I was surfing net after my lunch. By 2.40pm, it was tea time and it was served with a chocolate muffin and a cup of tea. I finished the muffin as chocolate muffin is my favourite and I also took a few sips of the tea. By 3.40pm, I had my 2nd session of the antibiotic treatment. After that, I took an afternoon nap as I felt sleepy.
My mother reached here at 5.20pm. I took my shower as she brought me the clean clothes for change. By 6pm, the dinner was served; it was fish with tomato sauce, 2 types of vegetables, white rice and a jelly. I did not take the food as provided by the hospital in this evening again as I ate the home cooked-food.
After the meal, I was reading the newspaper, then I blog about this. As at this time, my room is quiet as there are no visitors for my next bedded patient. Well, I hope that if her visitors come again, please do not make so much noise as I am wondering aren’t they know that they are disturbing others?!

My 10th day in the Hospital
Today is the 3rd day of the CNY, it is also called 赤口(pinyin :chi kou). I have been here for 10 days now.
I got up from bed by 7.30am this morning. Well, I did not able to sleep well for last night. This was due to the family of the next bedded patient came at 2am and they were making some noises. Moreover, they were talking quite loudly. Thus, I was not able to sleep.
Anyway, by 8am, the breakfast was served. I took 2.5 pieces of bread with butter, an egg and half cup of the Milo. I was then reading newspaper. I was feeling sleepy, thus I took a short nap before the doctors came to see.
I was awakened by my sister’s call at 10am, she said she would come to visit me and asked if I wanted to eat anything. As I was also felt a little bit of hungry at that time and felt like eating the wanton noodle, so I told her to buy it for me. I was then reading newspaper while waiting for the doctors.
By 10.30am, the doctors came to see me. The doctor told me the same thing that I still required for the antibiotic treatment, until next Monday. My doctor in-charge would resume work by Monday and then only he would decide if I could be discharge or further extend. So, I guess what I need to do now is to wait until Monday for the further decision. The doctors then left.
My elder sister and her family arrived here by 11am. So I took the wanton mee as bought by her. The noodle was tasted good. They were staying here for about an hour and then left. I started my 1st session of the antibiotic treatment at 11.30am. The lunch was served at 12pm. It was curry fish, 2 types of vegetables, white rice and a red apple. I just took some of the fish with some rice.
After the meal, I wanted to take some rest by getting some sleep. However, it was difficult for me as the family or relatives of the next bedded patient came to visit her. They were many of them, I think around 10 people. Gosh, they were talking so loud and some of them were trying to peep on me even though I have pulled the curtain to cover! L I could not sleep as they were making so much noise.
By 3pm, it was tea time and it was served with a curry puff and a cup of Milo. I took some bites of the curry puff and a few sips of the Milo. After that I was having my 2nd session of the antibiotic treatment of the day. I was still could not take my sleep due to the visitors of the next bedded patient were still around and there was so much noise. After her 1st batch of 10 visitors left, and then came another batch of visitors for her. Again, it was making so much noise in the room. Thus I could not have proper sleep. Since I could not sleep, I was surfing net for a while.
My mother was here by 4.30pm. I took my shower and also washing my hair. I felt fresh after the shower. It was started to rain heavily too, this was the first raining day here since the CNY.
I did not take the meal as provided by the hospital for my dinner due to my mother had cooked the dinner for me. I was having fried prawns and soup for my dinner. Finally I managed to have some rest after my meal as there was no more noise in the room as there were no more visitors for my next bedded patient.
So, I have my time and blog about this. Tomorrow is Sunday, which is also the last day of the long weekend; I bet many people would come back to KL from their hometowns. I wish them have a safe journey.

My 9th day in the Hospital
It’s 2nd day of the CNY today, and it is also the 9th day for me in the hospital.
I was awakened by the nurses at 4am this morning. This was due to I had to shift to another room, which was shifted from 1 bedded room to 2 bedded room. Thus, my mother and I then packed our belongings and went to the 2 bedded room. The patient whom next to me was an old Chinese lady patient. The room that I used to stay was given to another patient who had diagnosed TB and needed to be isolated. After changing the room, I continued my sleep.
By 8am, the breakfast was served; I just took 2 pieces of bread with the butter and the egg. After the breakfast, I started my antibiotic treatment. Then I waited for the doctor to come. By 10.30am, there were 3 medical students came to examine me. They were asking me about my conditions and then listened to my chest.
After that, my doctors came to see me. She was asking how my condition was. I told her that I felt good as no more fever and only having some wheezing sounds once a while. She then told me that I was still required to continue my antibiotic treatment until Monday. As for my wheezing sound, since it was only once awhile thus it was not a series issue, otherwise I needed to put on the oxygen mask for my breathing. The doctor told me that the doctor who in-charge of my case would resume work on next Monday, by then I could check with him if I could be discharged. The doctor also listened to my chest and she said it was ok.
I was not as lucky as my next bedded patient; her doctor discharged her by today. So, she could go back home after the lunch time. She had been hospitalized for 5 days. I am kind of jealous to her! L She left in the afternoon.
By 11.45am, lunch was served. It was as per my request order, i.e. chicken chop with 2 buns, salad and 2 pieces of yellow watermelon. I finished the chicken, 1.5 buns and a piece of the watermelon, very full-filling for me.
After the lunch, I was surfing net for a while. I was alone in the room as my next bedded patient had left. Today’s tea time was served with a cup of tea and a bowl of bubur manis of red bean. But I did eat it due to I do not like to eat bubur manis. Then the nurse came to check my blood pressure and body temperature, it was normal as I had 36.5C, no fever. By 3.50pm, the nurse came to give me 2nd session of the antibiotic treatment.
My mother came at 5.15pm. She brought me some chicken, duck, fish and soup for my dinner. I took my shower before my meal. I did not take the food as provided by the hospital since I got the home-cooked food.
Just as I wanted to rest after meal, a new patient was pushing into my room. It was an old Chinese lady. She told us that she was having heart problem and then she took her nap. Oh boy, I just hope that she would not make any noise during the sleeping time, otherwise I would not able to have some sleep for the night.

My 8th day in the Hospital
Gong Xi Fa Cai! Today is the 1st day of the CNY, year of Rabbit! This is also my 8th day here. I got up from the bed at 7.30am this morning as the nurses came to tidy the bed for me. The Malay nurse wished me Kong He Fatt Choi. She said it was a pity for me to stay in the hospital for the festive season. I told her that since I got sick, no choice.
Anyway, after my brushed-up, I took my breakfast. Since today is the 1st day of CNY, I have to become vegetarian for the day as according to my family culture. Thus I only took 3 pieces of plain bread with Milo as my breakfast.
I took a nap after my breakfast. By 9.30am, the doctor came to examine me. It was a Malay lady doctor. She also wished me Happy CNY. She explained to me that due to I was still under the new antibiotic treatment, therefore I could not go back home as the treatment was required 3 times per day. I then replied to her that it was ok that I am more concerned for my health than anything. The doctor listened to my chest and she found it ok. Then she left.
By 10.30am, I felt hungry, and it was about 2 hours more for the lunch time. So I took a vegetarian cup noodle to fill-up my stomach. By 12pm, the lunch was served, i.e. Fish, white rice, 2 types of vegetables and a mandarin orange. The mandarin orange was packed in a beautiful bag. As I mentioned I am a vegetarian today, I did not take the food as provided by the hospital. I waited for my mother to bring the food from home.
By 12.30pm, my mother was here. So I took my home-cooked vegetarian food. It was tasted good and I ate with full satisfaction. I always think my mother’s food is the best of the world! :) Anyway, after my lunch, I started the antibiotic treatment. Then I took my shower and then took some rest.
When I tried to get some sleep, I could hear the Indian lady patient next door was crying very loudly and I heard she kept on saying that she wanted to go back home. I tried to peek to her room, and I saw her relatives or friends were standing by her bedside and talking to her, but she kept on saying that she wanted to go back home. I felt sorry for her. Since I could not do anything to her, I continued my nap. I tried to tell myself that I must not affected by her as although I also wanted to go back home sooooo much, especially it is the festive season. I tried to keep my mind clear.
Anyway, I took my dinner at 6pm, it was still the food from my home. After that I took my 2nd session of the antibiotic treatment of the day. I guess the next treatment would be by 11pm tonight. Maybe I would do some readings before I go to bed tonight.
So, this is how I spent my 1st day of CNY.

My 7th day in the Hospital
Today is the Chinese New Year Eve, and it is also my 7th day in the hospital. I believe all the people are preparing to go back to their hometowns latest by today. I wish those people to drive safely in order to have a safe journey home.
Anyway, I got a better sleep for last night due to my coughing was lesser as compared to other nights. Moreover, I did not have fever. The nurse came to check my blood pressure and body temperature at 7.20am this morning. My body temperature was 36.4C, no fever, and good! I guess the chances of going home by today was high.
By 8am, I started my antibiotic treatment, this was earlier than yesterday. Anyway, after the treatment, I took my breakfast, i.e. bread with butter with the cup of Milo. After my breakfast, I was reading newspaper and waiting for my doctor to come. I was thinking and wish that I could be discharged by today.
By 9.50am, my Chest doctor came to see me. I was happy to see him. I asked him if I could go home today as I have no more fever. My doctor informed me that since I had changed to the new antibiotic treatment, it was required to be observed at least for a week as I was only been taken for 3 days. Moreover, my lung had severed infection and required to continue the treatment for 3 times per day for another week at least. The doctor could only give me Home Leave, which is to leave the hospital for few hours and then required to return to the hospital. He said that I could go back home for my reunion dinner. I was shocked to hear that I could not be discharged by today. In fact, I was still required for further treatment. Oh My God!!! After I discussed with my mother, I decided not to take the Home Leave, and to continue staying in the hospital as I want to have proper treatment to have a fast recovery. So I told the doctor that I would not go home then.
After that, the doctors left. I was still feeling shock as I would have my Chinese New Year in the hospital for this year. But what to do?! I recalled that I also had my Christmas in the hospital in year 2004. I think I am always the unlucky person! L
Since there was nothing I could do now but to rest followed the medications and treatments in order for me to have full recovery. Well, my CNY wish is to STAY IN GOOD HEALTH, BE A HEALTHY PERSON!
By 12pm, the lunch was served. It was a piece of fried fish with the lemon sauce, white rice, 2 types of vegetables and a red apple. I made myself to eat the fish and rice in order to boost up my immune system. Maybe one of the reasons that I’m weak was due to I am a picky person on the food.
Anyway, I took some rest after my meal. I received some CNY greetings SMS on these 2 days, one of them was from our PM. Thus I also sent the CNY greetings to my friends and relatives as the life still goes on!
By 3pm, it was tea time and served with a piece of butter cake and a cup of coffee. I just took the butter cake and let my bro-in-law drank the coffee as he came to visit me with my niece at that time. They stayed for about an hour and then left.
By 5pm, the nurse came to give me 2nd session antibiotic treatment of the day. By 6pm, the dinner was served with chicken, white rice, 2 types of vegetables and 2 pieces of yellow watermelon. I only took some bites of the chicken with the rice as I knew my mother would bring food for me.
By 6.30pm, my mother had reached here. So I took my shower, wish that all my bad luck would wash away!!! Then we started our dinner. We had salted chicken and duck as our reunion dinner, but the venue was not at home but in hospital! L Anyway, both of us enjoying the meal as we did not want to think any negatives.
So, this is how I spent my Chinese New Year Eve in the hospital. 4 more hours would be entered the year of Rabbit; I am wishing all the Chinese to have a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Rabbit Year!!! Gong Xi Fa Cai!!! 新年快乐!恭喜发财!!!

My 6th day in the Hospital
Today is the Public Holiday for the Federal Territory and it is also my 6th day in the hospital! L
Thank God, I did not have fever last night (as I was having fever for the last 3 nights). I think the new antibiotic is working for me. But I still have the coughing while I was sleeping. L
As usual, I got up from bed at 7.30am this morning. After my brushed-up, the breakfast was served. It was fried meehoon in a Malay style with a cup of Milo. I tasted the fried meehoon, quite spicy. I did not like the taste so I did not eat it. I just took some bites of the peanut butter bread which bought by my mother for me.
After the meal (around 9am), the nurse came to give me medication. I was then taking a short nap. This was due to I did not have a good sleep in last night.
By 10.30am, the doctor came to examine me. It was a Chinese lady doctor, Dr. Loh. She told me that she saw me before and she asked if I could recognize her. After I did some recall, I remember her too. When I was admitted for a full month in 2009, Dr. Loh has come to see me before and she was a friendly doctor. Anyway, she was asking about my condition and I told her that I did not have the fever in last night. I asked her if I could be discharged. But the doctor said since I just changed to the new antibiotic from yesterday afternoon, I still require to be further observed. Thus she could not discharge me by today. So I have to stay here for another day! Sigh!
I was reading newspaper after the doctor left. By 11.45am, the lunch was served. Eating time again. This time I have the appetite due to it was served with fish and chips with 2 buns, salad and a green apple. I finished the whole fish and chips and I kept the buns for later. I guess this was the only meal (provided by the hospital) that I could eat with full satisfaction since my admission because the taste of the food was suitable for me. I took some rest after my meal. Guess staying in the hospital were only rest, sleep and eat.
I was in between to surf net for a short while or listening to the music during my rest time. I also took a short nap. By 4.30pm, my mother was here. I then took my shower. By 5.30pm, I took my antibiotic medication again. My next session of the medication would be by 10.30pm tonight.
The dinner was served by 6pm. It was lemon fish with white rice, 2 types of vegetables and a pear. I did not eat it due to my mother has brought me the home-cooked food. I always prefer the home food.
After my meal, I was doing some newspaper readings. Then I was blogging for this. I wish that I could be discharge by tomorrow as I truly wish to celebrate my Chinese New Year with my family in my house and not otherwise. So, my friends, please pray for me, let me have full recovery soooon and have good health!!!
