Royale Casino @ Monte Carlo, Monaco

After travelling Italy, I went to the Monte Carlo, Monaco. It is a rich and famous city, and thousands of tourists come to this city for beach resorts, high-class hotels and casino.

We could get a taste of suited lifestyle of the 'Rich and Famous' in Monte Carlo. Admired the labyrinth of narrow winding streets, the 19th century Cathedral, built entirely out of white Turbie stone, which contains tombs of deceased Princes.

Then I also went to the biggest attraction of the city, i.e. the famous Casino of Monte Carlo, which was built in 1870. So, I did try my luck here by gambled. For your information, it is required to buy the entrance ticket to enter the casino, and it is not allowed to take pictures in there. You can try your luck by slotting machines or Roulette. As I am not good in gambling, I was just trying my luck for the slotting machines. However, the luck was not with me that day, I had lose 50 Euro within 30 minutes, how unlucky for me. In fact, my friend had won a lots on that day!

Monte Carlo also famous for the F1 race. During the F1 race, all the high-ways of the city would be closed and use as the track for the F1 race. I also have taken some shots of the road and would be posted later.

I also saw many luxury cars in the Monte Carlo. For example, Rolls Royce, Porsche, Ferrari. All the cars so beautiful and luxury. No wonder the city is 'Rich and Famous'.

After travelled in the Monte Carlo, my next stop is Switzerland. I will tell you next time.

It's Malaysia Day!!!

Today is Malaysia Day, 16th. September. 47 years ago, i.e. in 1963, Malaya along with the British crown colonies of Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore, formed Malaysia. Thus, it is named as Malaysia Day for today.

This year is the first year of celebration for the Malaysia Day, and it is also the public holiday for the country. I guess most of the people are happy that they are having an extra holiday and there are 2 times of celebration for the national day. With the formation, Malaysia becomes a country with different cultures, and therefore there are many various festive seasons available in the country.

How am I celebrate this Malaysia Day? Well, I just went to the nearby shopping mall with my family for lunch and then did the grocery shopping for the day. I saw there were some kids were carrying the national flag in the shopping mall. They look cute!

Anyway, Malaysia is already independent for 53 years, I hope the country will become more Prosperous, harmony and peaceful.

Oh, It's been 6 Years Already!

6 years ago of todate, my father had left us. He was passed away due to ARDS. My father had left us for 6 years already. During the first year after my father left us, my family and I were feeling sad, especially my mother.

After time has past, we started to feel better and not to be sad anymore. Sometimes we will still talk about the old times that we spent with my father. We will talk about his works, favourite food, etc. I still remember how did he treat us while he was alive.

Sometimes I would dream of my father too. Well, he looked the same as he was. He was still the same as old time that will take us for holidays or for good meals. He was enjoying that. This is what in my dreams.

Anyway, I want to tell my father that we are living good here and you don't need to worry for us. I also wish to tell the people out there, if your father is still with you, please treat him well, otherwise you will regret for it when he is not around anymore. Anyway, treat the people well when they are still around!!!

BookFest @ KLCC

I went to the BookFest at the KLCC yesterday. It is the 5th anniversary for the bookfest for this year. It was required to buy the entry ticket for the bookfest. The selling ticket staff was thinking that I'm below age 18 due to my petite size and young look, and he told me ticket is not required for the person who is aged below 18 as it is free entrance. I was happy to hear that he thought that I am young and not otherwise, but in the end, I still bought the ticket as I'm an adult. Haha!

There were many people in the BookFest. Many parents together with their children. It was good to see that so many people like readings. Besides selling books, there was also selling stationery, digital dictionaries, CDs, and VCDs. There was also authors giving autographs.

I had bought some books in the BookFest. Hopefully I could finish those books by end of this year. I also bought a very knowledgeable book for my niece as her gift. I had met the author of the children story book. He is very popular among the school children and his books have became the favourite for most of the school children. Guess what, he is my niece's favourite storybook author too. Due to my niece had travelled overseas, and could not meet her favourite story book author here, I deciced to give her another gift. I bought the latest story book of this author and requested him to give his autograph on the book for my niece and he did for me. I also took the photo of such author and would show to my niece when she comes back to home. I bet she must be very happy and exciting for the book.

After shopped in the bookfest, my legs were sore. But i think it is worth for it as I was able to read many books and also managed to buy the books I wanted to. So, I think I will go again in next year for the BookFest as it is good for reading.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri

10/9/2010 and 11/9/2010 will be the Hari Raya for the Muslims. During this festive season, many people will balik kampung (go back to hometown) to celebrate it with their families. Hence, I would like to advice those people who drive back to hometown to drive safely and have a safe journey. I also would like to wish all the Muslims to have a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri and those who are not celebrating Hari Raya, I am wishing you all have an enjoyable long weekend. Bye! :)

Other Sightseeings in Italy

Besides those cities that I travelled in Italy that I mentioned in my previous articles, there were some more places that I have travelled, i.e. Pompeii, Sorrento, Naples and Siena. Pompeii is the town frozen in time when it was engulfed by the eruption of Vesuvius in AD79. It reveals the daily life of the ancient Roma Civilisation. We could still see the bricks in the colored. We then went along the magnificent coastline of clifftop Sorrento. Sorrento consists of many lemons, thus I had taken a lemon ice-cream there and it was tasted good.

After that we drove along the seaside avenue via Francesco Caracciolo to see the beautiful scenery of Gulf of Naples district contains an exceptional of art and historical works. We visited the Castle Nuovo its name Maschio Angioino in honour of Charles of Anjou which was built in the 13th century.

Siena is the Renaissance rival of Florence. Walked through the narrow cobbled streets to the vast Campo Square where the biannual Palio horse race takes place to the accompaniment of great festivities.

So, these were the places that I visited in Italy. Besides Italy, I also travelled to the Monte Carlo, northern part of France and Switzerland. I will tell you more next time. Bye!
