London Olympics 2012

Finally it is the London Olympics 2012. London is the first city to hold the Olympics Games for 3 times. Do you believe it?! :P Anyway, I have watched the open ceremony of the Olympics Games in this morning.

I must say that the Lighting of the Olympic Flame in London Olympic 2012 is quite UNIQUE, Nice and Amazing!!! I like it! :) Moreover, the fireworks is also very beautiful.  

So, let us enjoy the games for the coming 2 weeks time, as I would watch the games of Badminton, swimming and gymnastics. I wish that the Malaysian athletes would have receive some medals, especially gold for this Game. Good Luck to all the Malaysian athletes!

Exercising Daily to Keep Brain Sharp

Two new studies presented at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference in Paris recently adds to the growing body of research that exercise can help safeguard your brain.

And you don't have to be a fanatic to benefit: just a brisk, 30-minute daily walk can delay mental ageing by five to seven years, researchers stated.

One study from Harvard Medical School in the US examined the connection between exercise and mental decline among some 2800 women aged 65 and older who all had cardiovascular disease, which is also associated with increased risk of cognitive problems.

After taking a battery of cognitive tests several times over the course of five years, the most active women substantially outperformed the least active women, according to the findings.

The second, from the US-based Health, Ageing and Body Composition longitudinal study, involved 197 adults aged on average 75 years.

The results from the five-year study showed that the most active seniors were less likely to develop cognition problems than their more sedentary counterparts.

Both studies were published online on 19 July in the journal Archives of International Medicine.

My Maple Leaf Postcard

I received a postcard from Taiwan today. It is a maple leaf postcard. I like it very much as I think it is beautiful. The Taiwanese sender is a lady and she writes that she lives in Taipei and near the famous night market, the Shilin Night Market.

According to her, the Shilin Night Market is very famous for food. It makes me want to revisit Taiwan again. I have travelled to Taiwan in many years back but I did not go to any of the night markets of Taiwan. FYI, Taiwan has many night markets and some of them are popular.

14 Days to go for the London Olympics 2012

It's countdown time! 14 days to go for the coming London Olympics 2012. I bet many people are looking forward to such great event.

The last Olympics was held at Beijing on Yr.2008, and the opening ceremony was on 8.8.2008. I recalled that my family and I were watching the opening ceremony on TV live. Time flies, and now it is the London Olympics 2012. Again, I think I would watch on TV for the opening ceremony on TV on 27.7.2012.

Well, I wish all the best of luck to our Malaysian athletes who participate in the London Olympics. I wish they would be able to get some medals for Malaysia. I am sure it is the hope/wish of the whole country. Again, good luck to all of you, Malaysian athletes!!!

My GB Royal Wedding Postcard from Finland

I received a postcard from Anu, Finland yesterday. It is the postcard of the marriage of HRH Prince William of Wales with Miss Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey, 29 April 2011. Anu is a teacher of Finland and she bought this card when she visited London few weeks ago with her husband.

I like this card as it is my 3^rd received postcard of the GB royal wedding. I would like to thank Anu for such card as I would appreciate it very much. Thank you, Anu! J 

Congrats to Spain!!! :)

Yes, the Spainish team won for the EURO 2012!!! Hooray!!! It is an amazing match, with the score of 4-0. I was thinking that the score would be 1-0 before the match, but it is unexpected result in the end!

No doubt, the Spanish footballers are amazing, especially the goalkeeper! He is GREAT!!! :)

I bet all the fans of Spain must be very very happy for the result. Me too! Anyway, congrats to Spain again for the Champion again!!!
